Pre-Masters English & Academic Writing – Thesis Writing, Research Papers, and Citation Skills
Academic writing at the postgraduate level requires a strong command of language, critical thinking, and structured argumentation. This course is designed to equip students with the skills needed to excel in thesis writing, research papers, and dissertation projects. Students will learn how to structure their writing logically, develop strong research questions, and use critical analysis to support their arguments.
A key focus of the course is citation and referencing skills. Students will be introduced to major referencing styles such as Harvard, APA, and Chicago, ensuring they meet academic integrity standards and avoid plagiarism. Additionally, the course will guide students in writing abstracts, literature reviews, and conclusions that meet postgraduate expectations. By the end of the course, students will have the confidence and proficiency needed to produce high-quality academic papers that meet university requirements.
